need to set the following security settings of IE to "Prompt" or "Enabled":

Download signed ActiveX controls

Run ActiveX Controls and plug-ins

Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting
The dialog box of the security setting can be launched from menu
Tools>Internet Options. Then select the security tab.

Please select yes, when the following dialog box shows up:

To make the demo process smoothly, please use low dpi for scanning. High dpi
will result in very large image and long time to upload.
